红灯笼缀满屋檐，福字贴满门窗，除夜的喜乐早已漫遍街巷。家家户户扫尘迎新、备皆好菜，驱驰在外的东说念主奔赴归程，只为奔赴一场团圆。这一天，欢声笑语、人烟氤氲，锅碗瓢盆撞出年味儿，家东说念主相伴暖满心房，热骚扰闹，共庆除夜好时节。

当冬日的暖阳轻轻洒在这座江南小城，黎川的年味，也随着人烟气迟缓浓了起来。

The New Year Flavor in Lichuan

As warm winter sunlight gently falls on this small Jiangnan city， the festive atmosphere of Lichuan gradually grows richer alongside the rising smoke from daily life.

The most enticing part of Lichuan’s New Year spirit is the aroma on the tongue. Villagers are busy making sausages: selecting the freshest pork， cutting it into small pieces， pickling them carefully， stuffing them into casings， and hanging them to dry. Every sausage holds a family’s longing for reunion. Besides cured meats， Guanxin Candy — a Lichuan intangible cultural heritage specialty — is a must on every New Year shopping list. Candy makers work in clear division: repeatedly pulling and kneading malt-sweetened glutinous sugar， then filling it with sesame and bean powder. The result is plump， white， crispy， and sweet Guanxin Candy — thin-skinned， crisp， sweet but not cloying. One bite brings back the sweetness of childhood and the joy of the New Year.

The street-side couplet stalls are packed with people. Bright red couplets hang all over the stalls. Residents carefully choose couplets， “Fu” characters， and window decorations. Every splash of red adds liveliness and festivity to Lichuan’s Spring Festival.

As night falls， folk activities light up the old town. A series of intangible cultural heritage events take turns on stage， breathing new life into age-old traditions passed down through generations. Fire-pot performances， white lion dances， and Sichuan Opera face-changing dazzle the crowd with rounds of applause. Fish-lantern parades and “bride-in-a-tower” traditional shows follow one after another. On the waterfront of Henggang Bridge， molten iron fireworks draw cheers， turning the ancient city’s night sky into a fairyland and peaking the festive mood. These time-honored folk customs embody Lichuan people’s expectations for the New Year and serve as treasures attracting visitors from near and far， filling every alley in the old town with joy.

Last Spring Festival， Lichuan Old Town received over 640，000 visitors， and this year’s popularity is even higher. The bluestone streets are bustling with locals strolling with children and out-of-town tourists coming to check in. Everyone comes for the New Year vibe — wandering ancient alleys， watching folk performances， and tasting local delicacies.
